Dear Mac Ranch friends, I, Matt, am writing to you on this auspicious occasion to announce two challenges: 1. Discover some google information on me - Matthew Gleason. AKA: Search my name and see what you can come up with. If you message me with your findings and Ill do a special one-on-one session concerning internet . (This is an experiment in privacy, social media, and anonymity). 2. Give me suggestions for how YOUD like to see The Mac Ranch grow. Specifically with a training bent, but honestly Im open to ideas! Private message suggestions or hit me up at matt@macranch . Other than that, thank you Cheryl and Hailey for joining us for our free Bits & Bytes class this past Monday! We talked all about voyaging with iOS, downloaded interesting apps for offline maps, looked at travel guides (Rick Rick Steves omg), and made sure that cellular data and voice roaming were turned -- OFF! (We also made mention of iMessage, Google Voice and Skype). Be sure to check out our blog at: themacranch.wordpress and our Google page as well. Today I am updating our schedule to reflect new February classes. I will have 201 for iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks finished by the end of this month, with iPhoto and the Google Cloud hot on their tails. To take inventory, I was considering creating a Google crash course, delving deep into: the Android OS, Google Chrome, and the various clouds services they offer, business and consumer. What would yall think of this idea? Also, tell your friends about our class offerings! Ill work out a syllabus for special class requests (eg: if you have a particular app in mind or have a system youd like designed). Check out our blog!
