Dear Members, Following our recent correspondence regarding the sale of LA fitness Chester, it is unfortunate that I have to inform you of the clubs closure. We had found a new operator for the club in Sports Direct; however, disappointingly the landlord has not agreed to the transfer and has notified us of the termination of our lease and the requirement to vacate. We can confirm that the club will close effective from 6pm on 1st August 2014. The team in the club have been made aware of the changes and you should experience little to no change in the day-to-day running of your club until the closure date. We believe the club will be taken over by Nuffield Health, who currently occupy the adjacent hospital. Nuffield Health run 65 fitness and wellbeing centres across the UK; however at this stage we have no specific knowledge of their plans, or the date for the re-opening of the club. We are supporting our club team to help them secure long-term employment. It is important to us to retain as many of the team within LA fitness, and where possible we will transfer their employment to another club. However, we are hopeful that the team will be retained and become employed by Nuffield Health. What happens next? You will still have full access to the club and our facilities until 1st August 2014, on which date we will automatically terminate your Membership and close the club. You will not need to take any action. Should you wish to discuss your membership please contact our Member Support team on 01302 892455. If you currently hire a locker, or have Personal Training or sunbed sessions to use, please speak to a member of the team in club, or your Personal Trainer who will discuss the process of removal of these services. Thank you On behalf of our team at LA fitness Chester, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support over the years, and we sincerely hope that you will continue to enjoy a fit and healthy lifestyle in the future. Yours sincerely Martin Long, CEO
