Dear Membership, Let me start by saying Happy New Years!!! The meetings I have been having with our membership have been very insightful and informative. Both groups, boy’s and girl’s parents provided us with great information and the overwhelming positive responses have been truly inspiring. Together we will build back the league. We are now initiating some more great programs for our community. For years people have said I wish my child could get one more year at GKLL. Well your wish has come true. We have started a 13u 50/70 program which will play interleague with the other Little League teams on Staten Island. This will also be an All-star division as well. Also thanks to our collaboration with our affiliate groups, we will be able to play some 60/90 games in the schedule as well. Just by word of mouth many players have called us to join. The other new program we are bringing back to GKLL is co-ed softball for ages 13-18. While Baseball may not be for everybody who graduates Little League when they move to the big field, they most certainly enjoy a friendly game of softball. Both boys and girls are welcome and this too has received a positive response. We have been contacted by 6 teams already. John Mulia will be heading the Coed softball division. My next letter to the membership will outline the winter clinics and hitting league and give you all the information you need.
