Dear Michael Bay, when you made the first #Transformers film in 2007, I truly believed you understood this beloved franchise. Seven years, and three films later, it is evident that you do not. While I enjoyed the actors and much of the action in this new film, the Transformers themselves have become mostly joyless, and the nobility has all but been stripped from Optimus Prime. Prime would never, ever, use the word kill, especially directed at another living being (robotic or otherwise), and this new, angry, bitter Optimus just isnt Optimus. Also, at just under 3-hours long, I now know it is possible to have too much of a good thing. Polarizing, this one is. Whats worse, is you have now teased me with the prospects of characters from deep in the Transformers lore, and now I must await a fifth film to see if my hopes come true. I only pray that film is handed off to someone with a fresh perspective, and greater understanding of the Transformers franchise.
