Dear Michael Moore and Seth Rogen. I am a veteran. I have not - TopicsExpress

Dear Michael Moore and Seth Rogen. I am a veteran. I have not yet seen the film American Sniper. I do not particularly feel any sort of attachment to Clint Eastwood or Bradley Cooper or even you, Mr Rogan, other than occasionally enjoying one of your films. Personally, I do not care if you enjoyed the film or not. Your retractions and backpedaling are off-base and ridiculous. What I DO care about is that you called snipers cowards and likened a biographical movie about a recently murdered American soldier to the idea of a state sponsored Nazi Germany film. Both of you make more money than I ever will. If you TRULY felt strongly about the horror of war I suspect you would take your considerable fame and funds and actually DO something to make the world a better place other than to smoke pot and make vitriolic one-sided political documentaries. I expect when one makes a statement as strong as singling out an entire group of our armed forces and uses their platform of fame to label them ALL cowards that they are doing so for something more than attention. I do not want your apologies. You are free to say and do exactly as you please. Despite my anger... The thing you can never understand, the thing you cant comprehend... If the day came, unlikely as it seems... If I were all that were standing between you and one of the extremists that wanted your life for pissing people off with your freedom of speech rights I would defend you with my life. I would do it with a sniper rifle. With a handgun. With a knife. With my hands. I would do it outgunned and outnumbered. If I were there, I would, even if I were sure to fail. I would do it not because I like or even respect you, but because I am a soldier, and when I volunteered I said I would.
