Dear Mr. Halperin, With all due respect, do you really believe - TopicsExpress

Dear Mr. Halperin, With all due respect, do you really believe the things you say and write? My strong suspicion is, you dont, which begs a response. As a journalist, your role in a free press is to help hold government accountable, not promote an unvarnished bias in favor of one person or another. Obviously, you and your colleagues fail on the very foundation of your chosen career. I make this claim based upon the last five years of unabashed support of the press for our sitting President by commission and omission. You imply the press focuses on what a candidate or the President says. You will be far better served and perhaps regain some small bit of respect from your readers if you focused on what the candidates and government DO. Having lived through Watergate, I believe Mr Nixon was more than a little quiet and not saying a great deal about his abuse of power and deceit; in fact, he lied. To their great credit, Woodward and Bernstein worked diligently getting to the truth of what Nixon and his cronies were DOING. Until the last five years, their work help make the United States a better, safer, stronger nation. From your response, I have no faith you were familiar with the ACA during or after in was forced through both houses of Congress by one party. I believe you likely have not read it or studied it to date (On this, I hope Im wrong). When a reporter, publisher, editor makes the statement accredited to you, any sense of respect or faith in your work is lost. Please do your work, live up to your profession, start rebuilding and rehabilitating your reputation as a member of the press. You owe it to your country. Respectfully, JP
