Dear Mr Pang, The protocol in the University of London and in the UK , is to record on the degree certificate the name in the following order: First Name, Middle Names, Surname Therefore your degree Certificate is correct as it is written. At Birkbeck we can provide you with a letter confirming this, so if you need to show your degree certificate in your country you can also show the letter detailing the protocol in the UK. Thanks for replying to me and thanks for the offer of a remedy (of sort). I am afraid the solution of providing an extra document to explain YOUR protocol is unacceptable for me. There would be far more occasion for me to use this cert in Malaysia than in UK, and so I believe our protocol is more than adequate for my purposes. I am requesting once again for a change of the certificate to present my name the way it is written. I am happy to return the cert that had been sent to me. You are however welcome to provide a letter to the university explaining that some people have different protocols. Thank you very much. pang khee teik
