Dear Mrs. Obama, here is a little dose of reality from a mom who lives in the real world. Newsflash: American kids have never gotten fat from school lunches. Let the cooks prepare real food the kids will actually eat & not throw in the garbage. These ladies know their way around a kitchen if they had the freedom to do their job. Then the kids would not come home ravenous....& the part of your speech about a parent worrying about their children was true, but I never remember my parents laying in bed at night worrying about whether I would get fat from the food on my lunch tray. That is extremely comical to real people with much bigger worries. Here is an idea- if you need to create a cause to be passionate about, a platform, why dont you create a law effective YESTERDAY stating that no child suffering from cancer shall be denied any form of chemotherapy or be required to wait while it is approved. And when a hard working family who is already living a nightmare cannot afford a medication for their child, give it to them the way the government so famously gives people money each month who could actually work but do not. That could be the difference between life & death for a child in a situation where every minute counts. That, along with so many other health care issues going on in this country, is what you need to spend your time worrying about. Its called reality...open your eyes & come live in it.
