As we all know, the current conflict between Israel and militants in the Gaza Strip has left a lot of Palestinian casualties, more than 100 people were killed till date, more than 1,000 badly hurt mostly innocent children. The civil war in Syria is not ceasing causing more than 4 million Syrians displaced, more than 3 million Syrians fled the country and became refugees, and millions more were left in poor living conditions with shortages of food and drinking water. Ramadan is the month of generosity: from God by giving the ajer rewards for fasting, and from people to each other by feeling the needs of the poor. Muslim or not, charity is a universal act of humanity. Giving without waiting to be repaid purifies your spirit of kindness. Charity in the Muslim world is divided into two categories: zakat is an obligatory form of giving, and it has certain rules when your wealth reaches a known limit; sadaqah is voluntary, where you ought to give whenever, wherever and with any amount.
