Dear Neighbors/Friends/Family, Many of you are kind enough to - TopicsExpress

Dear Neighbors/Friends/Family, Many of you are kind enough to ask me about the rugby world and what is new with Serevi Rugby. I now have the perfect opportunity to show you first-hand what the sport is about and what we’re up to as a now three year old sports startup. The weekend of August 9 & 10, we will be hosting the USA Rugby Club 7s Championships in Seattle at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. Just think hundreds of wildly conditioned men and women in tight athletic gear competing on two fields in a series of 14-minute games (can you run non-stop for 7 minutes at a time?). This is the organizing body’s national championship event. This is the very first time the Pacific Northwest has been granted the right to host an event of this magnitude. While my colleagues and I are not typically in the event business (preferring to run professional rugby programming), we couldn’t pass on the opportunity on very short notice to bring this now-Olympic sport to Seattle on a large scale. We are pulling out all stops. The entire south grandstand of the main stadium pitch will be turned into a beer garden. We’re bringing in food trucks and even a dunk tank (which I may even submit myself to if you show up). There will be a Fan Zone and a Kids Zone. Catchy music. The works. With this note, I ask you to consider attending. Tickets are only $15 for the weekend or $50 for a pack of 4. I have physical tickets you may purchase or you may buy on-line here. Not only will you get to see the kinds of things I do and the people I work with, but you’ll also help us show that the Northwest likes its sports and turns up to support. Just as additional background, we work with kids as young as 5 here in Seattle, where we also work with Seattle U and now (attention Doug) UW. We travel all over the country and the world working with young athletes. It’s now our distinct honor to host a big event in our backyard. Come see what all the fuss is about! For you soccer/futbol fans, guess which two teams were photographed warming up with rugby balls in Brazil? That’s right: Germany and Argentina! Coincidence? I think not….
