Dear Neighbors, In just under two weeks our township will go to the polls and elect three members to our Board of Education. We have an opportunity to say No more! to the status quo rut our Township has fallen into. No more! to every elected office in our area, even volunteer Board of Education positions, being bought, paid for, and controlled by one group of politicians. No more! to the cynicism that leads the three incumbents who are running, who have nearly 40 years combined on our Board, to have the gall to believe they can distribute flyers reading Lets Take Back Our Schools!! and get away with it. No more. We are fathers of children currently attending Gloucester Township schools. We have no political party backing and, unlike our opponents, we do not think such backing is legal or appropriate. We are running because we believe the Board no longer listens to the teachers, parents, and support staff of our schools. We pledge to initiate a dialogue with the parents and staff of each of our schools by going directly to them and we will demand that our Superintendent do the same. We will not simply sit in the Administration Building once a month and react to, or ignore, complaints. Each of our schools can be better. Our Board can be proactive and help our schools be the best they can be. You should demand nothing less. Please vote on November 5th and take a step toward really taking our schools back.
