Dear Neighbors, We wanted to send a quick update on the status - TopicsExpress

Dear Neighbors, We wanted to send a quick update on the status of the Clarke Flowers site to the many people who have watched this project since its beginnings. As you may know City Kitty, the Providence veterinary practice led by Cathy Lund, now owns the parcel, and fencing to secure the site went up last week. Demolition of the sadly-deteriorated structure will begin very soon. Current (and as you know unpredictable) construction timelines call for completion of the project next spring with City Kitty up and running at its new location before summer. In addition to City Kitty the building will include one other professional tenant as well as residential units. City Kitty has also recently acquired the parcel next to the Clarke Flowers site, which they plan to include in this project to increase available parking and widen the green buffer between the site and neighbors. This part of the project will need zoning approval as it is currently a residence, and we are reaching out to those who abut that lot to discuss the plan and its impact. Several abutters have walked the property line with the project architect -- Glen Fontecchio -- to ensure that every healthy mature tree along the property line will be saved. Cathy and Glen have also agreed to participate in a community meeting so that anyone interested in seeing their site plans, asking questions, or meeting them personally can do so. We hope to schedule this for early September, before the zoning hearing, and we will be back in touch about a date and time. Thank you again for all of your continued interest and support. We have every expectation that City Kitty will be a positive addition to our block.
