In addition, I offer the following thoughts. In the past Ive written that the Obama Machine is trying to destroy the Republican Party. The goal is one-party rule, which is essential to statism. Representative Raúl Labrador, Republican of Idaho recently stated, “. . . . I think what [Obama has] done over the last two and a half weeks — he’s trying to destroy the Republican Party. And I think that anything we do right now with this president on immigration will be with that same goal in mind: which is to try to destroy the Republican Party and not to get good policies.” Garth Kants article (Bombshell: White House planned shutdown -- October 18) on Valerie Jarretts hand in the shutdown and Obamas refusal to negotiate, supports Representative Labradors view. The same goal to destroy the Republican Party is seen in the Obama-Jarrett Machines influence on the media that claims anything the Republicans propose amounts to obstructionism, Tea Party craziness, and so forth. Readers comments on a number of columnists rants against Republicans mouth the same words. In this regard, in recent articles Paul Krugman and Eugene Robinson were particularly insulting toward the Republican opposition. Such men may be dismissed as unreachable. Obama and Jarrett, too. None of these will change. But Congress and the liberal media can be reached. The tide can be turned. The recent article in Newsweek gives some evidence for this. But the media needs what we all need: a strongly reasonable and firm opposition showing why Obamas demands must not be granted. Saralee Wisner, President of the San-Bern FRW, sent me an article from National Review Online: Republicans Must Get Wise to Obama’s Hard-Line Fiscal Strategy, October 18, 2013 -- nationalreview/ (Scroll down, article on left). Heres the first paragraph of it. Judging from the speech Obama gave following the deal to end the government shutdown, Republicans better get wise to the president’s next fiscal gambit when the three-month stop-gap budget and debt measures come due. As was the case with his hard-line defense of Obamacare, the president likely will be inflexible on ending sequestration budget caps, pushing for massive tax hikes, and permitting only the most inconsequential entitlement reforms. Likely to be inflexible? Obama-Jarretts dictatorial aspirations are unmistakable. As I read the National Review article, I recalled films Id seen of Hitlers angry speeches during the late 1930s, his blistering hate of Jews and anyone else that wasnt pure. The only difference is that Obama prefers to use ridicule and sarcasm, his anger usually contained. And instead of Jews, his hatred and fear is aimed at Republicans, which is his cover for the rich and the productive. Recalling the strange docile fear that swamped Obama during the first debate with Romney, it was obvious that something was amiss. Valierie Jarrett must have been on vacation at the time. Surely no other convincing explanation was ever offered for Obamas strange paralysis. But now, in view of his present projection of pretended confidence and resolve, and his non-conciliatory speech, shes in full swing once again. Im pretty sure everyone is getting the same impression as I. No Chief Executive has ever been so truculent toward an opposing Party. No Chief Executive has ever been so sarcastic toward the loyal opposition, continually holding them up to ridicule. It is very odd, a neurotic, alien posture in American politics. Everyone seems to sense that alien quality. Everyone seems to know what the Obama-Jarrett Machine is after. The Retrogrades know it. The media knows it and political parties know it. Some want statism. Some dont. But those that dont want statism are limp in the face of Obamas seeming popularity. Perhaps theyve forgotten that his approval rating remains on average at 42%, his disapproval rating at 52%. And that on average, only 38.3% favor the Health Care law while, 48.8% oppose it. Politicians up for election should remember that. I am also pretty certain that almost everyone knows what has to be done. A firm and unyielding opposition to the Obama-Jarrett Machine must be taken. It is not strength that turns people away. It is uncertainty, weakness of resolve, appeasement that is distasteful to us. Everyone seems to be waiting for some strong leader to show up and lead the way. Thatd be nice. But its not essential. Whats essential is firmly stating the ideas of this country, and showing why those ideas must not be breached. This should have been done before the Affordable Health Care bill was passed. But its not too late. Republicans and the Republican Party must take a firm and completely unyielding refusal to grant Obamas demands. This unyielding firmness must be reflected in our actions, in what we say and in whatever platforms the Party devises. Candidates must take part, too, and speak firmly for the ideas that make America free and therefore great. We must deny the Obama-Jarrett Machine any sliver of a right to do what they demand we do. We must say firmly and repeatedly in every way we can, in every place we can -- to the faces of their supporters, in meetings, on the floor of the House, in the Senate, in Letters to the Editor, in calls and messages to our representatives, during rallies and meetings of our organizations -- that we are the Party that Knows and we say: 1. No to the Obama-Jarrett Machine. They have no right to violate the rights of American citizens by demanding we give up our property in order to realize their wishes. We urge individual states to refuse to implement the Affordable Health Care law and to oppose it completely. We will support that refusal and opposition. 2. No, Obama, you may not further bloat government. We are urging legislation to close OSHA, the EPA, the NEA, the Department of Energy and other agencies that waste our resources and interfere with our lives. 3. No, Obama, you have no right to intrude further into the economy by passing more regulations on businesses. Your attempt to control the business of medicine is already causing harm. 4. No, Obama, we will not grant you additional powers. Valerie Jarrett is an unelected individual and in view of her Svengalian hold on you, we call for her dismissal. 5. No, Obama, we will not allow more taxes. The economy remains weak. It will become weaker with more taxes. 6. No, Obama, we will not allow any further government spending. The more you spend on the non-productive, the more you weaken productivity. 7. No, Obama, we will not approve the 2014 budget proposal for foreign aid. 8. No, Obama, we will not allow further interference in our lives and confiscation of our property. The need of some people is not a right to the property, including money, of others. . 9. No, Obama, we do not recognize your authority to breach the Constitution by issuing executive orders circumventing Congress. 10. No, Obama, we will not cooperate with you. We will oppose and obstruct you because you have shown yourself to head an Administration that is a clear and present danger to these United States. Will the media support us? The conservatives will. The Retrogrades will not. Do we have a chance with these declarations to stop Obamas drive for one-party rule and statism? Yes. How? By being clear and firm and calm. As the CVA speaker said at a recent grassroots training session, Loose you temper and you loose the argument. I can testify to the truth of this. I have too often lost my temper and lost the argument. We must learn to avoid rants. In a level voice, we must speak and write to show that every single demand, wish or proposal of the Obama-Jarrett Machine curtails freedom and harms Americans and America. We shall show that Obamas inflexibility is to destroy the Republican Party. Our unyielding devotion to individual rights, limited government and free markets is to protect Americans and America. Inflexibility in the pursuit of power and destruction is a vice. Unyielding devotion to justice is a virtue. No matter what ones income, no matter what ones age or gender, race, ethnic background or immigration status, Obamas plans for Americans is to destroy their dreams -- the American Dream of being free to earn ones own way, free to make a comfortable home for oneself. Freedom is the absence of coercion. It means no government invasiveness into our lives. . The Republican Party is the only political entity standing in the way of Obamas pursuit of transforming America into his image. If we allow the media to remain blind to what he is, he will kill the GOP. But other organizations will fight to stop him. And that will be the beginning of civil war. I dont want civil war.
