Dear Out-of-Town Friends, As some of you might be aware, the SF Bay Area is bracing for a storm that will hit us later tonight that can really only be described as biblical in nature. The National Weather Service is predicting that actual water will fall from the sky, potentially for longer than a few minutes at a time. Not frozen water, mind you (that would be crazy talk), but rest assured that there will be liquid water that cannot be confused for fog or mist. Additionally, temperatures are expected to plummet to dangerously close to 20 degrees above freezing, and winds in excess of a stiff breeze are anticipated. Authorities are taking this situation seriously. School districts in San Francisco, Oakland, Marin, and other Bay Area counties have announced that schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday, and residents are encouraged to remain calm and inside their homes for the duration of the emergency. This is going to be rough on all of us. We are likely to experience power outages, requiring us to switch over to our battery back-up power supplies. Worse, we might be without WiFi for brief periods of time and will be unable to stream the new Taylor Swift album or watch the Star Wars 7 trailer for the 400th time. We might be without heat for periods of up to an hour and be forced to put on a light sweater to stay comfortable. It will be brutal, but Im sure with your prayers and support, we will pull through this crisis. God-willing, we will see you on the other side (Saturday).
