Dear Parents, We will be continuing our school day soon and students will be back in class. Be assured, all student are very safe and dealing with the interruption of our day appropriately. Here is a summary of the situation today. The Ottawa County Sheriff?s Office conducted an investigation at the West Ottawa High School in conjunction with the West Ottawa Public School Administration. At Approximately 7:41am todays date the Ottawa County Central Dispatch received information regarding a possible explosive device at the South Building of the West Ottawa High School. This information was immediately transmitted to the Sheriff?s Office School Resource Deputies that work within the West Ottawa Public Schools. The South Building was evacuated and those students were moved to other structures within the High School Complex. The school remains on lock down at this hour while the Sheriff?s Office and School investigate the situation. At no time were there any injuries or harm to any students of staff. This was a precautionary procedure only.
