Dear Parishioners: I am happy to present to you this year’s annual report. In it you will see that we are a parish that is alive and thriving in our mission of sharing God’s love. Each of us have been blessed by God, and the means of expressing our thanks is reflected in the ways that we share our time, talent, and treasure. In the format of this report you will get a sense of the many things that happen at St. John’s on a monthly basis and that your contributions support. One of the biggest highlights you’ll see from the last fiscal year is that we have paid off our long-term debt eighteen months early. It’s a pretty remarkable accomplishment that we can all celebrate in spite of the challenging times in our diocesan church. While we are now debt-free we can’t rest on the laurels of the past or take a step back in financial contributions. Now we have the opportunity to invest in ourselves and our future. Steps have already been taken in terms of investing in our ministries of education, including our parish school, as well as pastoral ministry as you will see in our budget for the current fiscal year. Your ongoing financial support will be crucial to accomplish these strategies that are geared to a bright future for our parish. Also among the accomplishments of the past fiscal year are some projects in our church. Thanks to memorial gifts of the past we were able to tile around the baptismal font to create a more distinguished baptistery. In the sanctuary, we now have a new granite ambo that mirrors the altar and places both on a distinct axial point with the font. We also have new candle holders and presider chair, as well as new icons of St. Kateri Tekakwitha and Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos that we were able to commission thanks to the generosity of two donors. The goal of each of these projects is to renew our inspiration in putting our faith into action by serving others in the Spirit of Jesus. In closing I want to take a moment to thank you for all of your support and generosity in the past. It truly is a privilege to serve you as your pastor. Together we continue to do great things in making Jesus Christ known and loved in this time and place. Most graciously in Christ, Father Mike Tix, Pastor
