Dear Participants of triathlons specially Olympic and half Iron man, Hope you are in the final phase of preparations, wish you all the best for a good finish, Some of the feed back for the participants of Olympic and Half Iron man distance participants to share with you all, 1. ECR is facing head wind on the cross section after Punjeri to Kalpakkam though most of the time its cross winds from right to left but at certain section its straight on head. Though nothing to be afraid as wind velocity is not very high. Just be mentally prepared 2. The scattered rain around Chennai have increased the humidity level, hence please carry sufficient hydration, preferably carry at least two bottles one filled with sports drink what ever you are used to or simple mix of lemon/ honey /salt / sugar all as per your taste and another bottle with plain water. Dont wait for next shop to buy water, a bottle of slice/ Maza will serve you better All though Saturday / Sunday forcast is indicating cloudy weather which is good. 3. your expected time in swim is close to 1hr for Olympic and 1.5 for Half Iron, for cycle it should 2hrs for olympic and 4hrs for half iron, hence all of you will be doing your running under sun in humid condition. hence if you are not habitual to sun exposure please use sun cream, towel etc to avoid sun burns which are common during humid days under sharp sun. 4. Use sufficient vasline on body part likely to face rubbing to avoid Chaffing specially before running. 5.Since cycling route is not going to be manned by volunteer, please get your bike checked before, maintain right air pressure to minimize risk of puncture. try to carry spare tube and puncture kit. all participants are requested to help each other during any such requirement to avoid delay and getting stranded for long on road, 6. Please carry a zip lock cover of some with some money and an extra cover to protect your mobile in case of rain. 7. last but not not the least, cut your to nails to avoid nail byte during running. looking forward to meet you all at start point and finish point.
