Dr. Osgood, Judges have incredible powers, and they can increase those powers if they feel the need to bring in more power as needed, but they cannot do it without being asked, not unilaterally without a cause and reason. The diversity committee has just cast its vote, and it will likely soon be unanimous as well I hope... so the judge now has cause and reason. He will wish to do something, this judge. Whatever the judge does, I believe we wish it to be fundamental, resoundingly thorough, lasting and far-reaching... yes? I am confident that the good judge, having seen the wisdom of having the people vote for the peoples positions that the judge will also see the necessity of having all political ad and promotions go through one shared kitty and office so that every cable, internet, television, radio, print media, marketing agency, pollster and lobbyist, and anyone doing anything remotely politically-promotional within Broward county will thus all see on every checks heading the same paymaster, a common kitty administered by the the court as it wishes. Michael Dear Dr. Osgood, Sometimes a majority of the good that can be accomplished by actually doing a thing can in fact be accomplished simply by proposing its doing to the right parties at the right time, as a kind of clarion-call to the masses, even should the suggested act not be carried-forth. Sometimes... It is almost so obvious as to not be worth mentioning, but: The matter of a renewed oath-taking is also a nice pain-free cost-fee option on the short list of what the heck can a judge do items - that might have hope of a systemic effect and system-wide positive outcome. And empathy-(sanctuary-garden) tents at schools for things like MLK day... and such and whatnot. Also worth mentioning: Perhaps also consider mentioning to the Judge that the matter of an apparent lack of transparency in not providing the public with a true choice in the matter of whether it wants to continue to fund (by not funding) the creation of an ever more effective and LARGER pipeline from our schools directly into our Florida prisons... I think we do not wish this at all in Broward, not for our children nor for anyones children anywhere... no I do not. Do you? There is of course this matter of allocating one-third of the resources needed to our children, and also of its architect? Who puts together the data for the schools that shows academic progress success where there is none to little, whence this architect? There was a complete breakdown of the system, or there was never a system in place to prevent this, but whichever is the case, there was/is a total lack of transparency in the process of our opting for a $.8B instead of $3.0B bond - all done PRIOR to its being brought to the public as a de-facto done-deal one-choice take-it now or lose it type of presentation as made by the State... this is not acceptable. Judges, Judges, Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are Will you please consider making this clear failure to meet the minimum needs of the neediest of our children a key reason communicated to this judge and worse even than this itself, the below attachment indicates that there are no protective mechanisms nor institutions in place that can be trusted to put kids first and that the League of Cities involvement is why it may be considering not just for the School Board but for all positions... all of them... not just with education... how else to void this a clear contamination of some sort that now fouls the system? Systemic problems demand a systemic solution so it is my suggestion that it is in the best interests of the diversity committee to suggest that the support of lobby like efforts to usurp the best interests is done over and over, such as by the national association of school boards to take away rights from parents and kids in lawsuits, it is shameful. Im not over-speaking or being over harsh I dont believe... it is what it is. Shameful. And thus it is all ample cause and reason to contemplate approving that here proposed.
