A unique element in the stone temple garbhagriha is the stone carvings of the pastimes of Srimad Bhagawatam from the 1 st to 12 th canto on upper layer and Vrindavan pastimes of Krishna from 10 th canto on lower layer. These carvings have been made by traditional stone artisans from Orissa. The remaining part of the garbhagriha stone carvings have been made by artisans from Rajasthan.A total of 4500 Cubic feet of pink sandstone has been used to make this full solid stone temple garbhagriha in traditional temple architecture design. The Kirtan hall is a simple ,octagonal ,open from all sides ,gazebo like structure with mangalore tiles roof and bamboo flooring( which will be executed a few weeks later ).The Kirtan hall is around 4000 square feet and can hold up to 1000 devotees for katha. The plinth of the Kirtan hall is raised up to 10 feet above the ground level with the central part of 2500 square feet under the floor filled with rammed mud.The remaining 1500 feet under the floor of the Kirtan hall has all the utilities around the circumference of the ground floor .The utilities include Deity kitchen, dress rooms,Prasadam counter,Gift stall etc. Another unique feature is the East side entrance stairway has a peculiar bend towards the South instead of opening up towards the east. This is in order to respect the presence of an ancient mango tree which is growing right at the eastern end of the Kirtan hall.In fact while climbing up the stairs one can experience the auspicious touch of this tree who may have been waiting for this moment in history when he may take Darshan of Their Lordships. The North Eastcorner is also adorned by the auspicious Shimuli tree mentioned in Caitanya Caritamrita. We wish to express heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your blessings and prayers. We look forward to serving you all on this auspicious occasion. Your servants at, Govardhan ecovillage
