Dear Richard, We’re seeing it all too often – the - TopicsExpress

Dear Richard, We’re seeing it all too often – the influence of wealthy special interests is undermining our political system. From the Koch Brothers to Wall Street to Super PACs and defense contractors, the negative effects of big money are everywhere. But luckily for us, not every politician has drunk the Kool-Aid. Here are three Senate candidates who have consistently stood against big money – and for ordinary Americans. They’re all up for election, and running in tough races. Will you consider a $10 donation to their campaigns? Al Franken of Minnesota knows that big money drives much of the dysfunction in Washington. He’s a vocal opponent of Citizens United, the Supreme Court decision that allows unlimited money in politics, and supports a constitutional amendment to overturn it. Bruce Braley of Iowa is a true champion of the people. He’s spent his political career standing up for progressive causes, from giving full support to our veterans to protecting funding for food stamps to keeping America out of war. Rick Weiland of South Dakota is challenging a popular Republican who has vowed to raise $9 million from donors mostly outside of the state. By contrast, Weiland is a populist who wants to win with the support of small grassroots contributions. These three are living proof that special interests don’t have to get the last word. Click here to pitch in $10 today! Thanks for all your support. Sincerely, John Isaacs & Guy Stevens
