Dear SJTD and Twitter Family: I want to talk to you today about not making every small battle, a big battle. Friends, everyday we have opportunities to get upset with people in our lives. Maybe one of your good friends walked right next to you without saying hello. Or, maybe you expected your spouse to do something and they didnt. Or, maybe one of your coworkers is always making cunning and sarcastic comments that really gets under your skin. We all have these opportunities to get frustrated. And often times, instead of giving the person the benefit of the doubt or just ignoring, we get upset and we want to give that person a piece of our mind. We enter into a battle. But you have to understand this key principle that not every battle that comes across your path is a battle that we are supposed to fight. Many battles are just what the devil will use as distractions that lure us off course, to keep us from Gods best. And picking the WRONG battles in life, can cause you to lose the RIGHT battle against the devil. No, God has created you to be like an eagle, to soar, and to not let the crows of the world, people who upset, frustrate you to keep you from Gods best. “But those who trust in the LORD, those who follow the Lord, they will soar high on wings like eagles. ”Isaiah 40:31 Sometimes you have to IGNORE in life, so that you can SOAR into the kingdom of Heaven. My encouragement to you on this Wednesday is to pick the right battles. Fight only battles that help you draw closer to God. You have to IGNORE SO THAT YOU CAN SOAR. Have a blessed Wednesday. Fr.
