Dear Sister and Brother in the world Amani At this moment and throughout this day the whole world expresses concern about Kenya. Late morning of September 21st 2013 a gang of attackers found their way to enter the famous shopping mall at Westands called Westgate. It is Saturday noon time. It is a special shopping time for Kenyans. I know the Westgate Mall from the time I lived at Westlands Friary. Westgate saw me from time to time to do some business there. Our common concern is the big number of innocent people, ordinary citizens of Nairobi, who were injured, who were caught, who were killed in the gun fire. We place each affected person, woman, child and man into Gods Hands. We pray for each family and the whole Kenyan Nation According to the reports it seems the attackers pointed at special chosen people of our present society. The direction shows the way into politics and towards members of our high society. It is not my intention to pass the message to you, I live in Langata, 25 Km away from the scenery, I am safe and I am alive. My and the concern for everybody of us points at the crucial and violent scenery where so far about 40 people were shot and over 150 people injured and brought to the hospitals. Nairobi is again a location of a serious scenery. It is an attack of violence to harm our present modern society. We are just recovering from our inner conflict-situations. I mention this to affirm we are on the way to peace, we are on the way to live reconciled. In the context of this message it is more than clear to me. Kenya will not turn back to turmoil, violence and disorder. The words of our President Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta made it quite clear this evening; Kenya does not grant space for violence and terrorism. He appealed for unity, common respect and fight against any kind of destruction and division. Space for fundamentalism will not be granted on Kenyan soil. Kenya is united and Kenya will remain united. September 21st is the International Day of Peace The attackers used this date to pass the opposite message to the world. At his present moment we will conclude and say: Peace is stronger then violence God bless Your Br. Hermann Borg ofm Mother Earth Mother Earth Network, P.o Box 15155 - 00509 Langata, Nairobi.
