Dear Suruchi Gupta and all other near and dear ones. As much as I appreciate the spread of the awareness of ALS, I do not accept the challange. I do not believe that a bucket full of ice can make one remotely experience what patients and their families are suffering through. I do understand the noble intent in throwing light upon such a sensitive matter but I do feel that we have somewhere lost our purpose in challanging each other and making it more of a game. Please excuse me for expressing my thoughts. I truly apologize if it hurts any sentiments, but I do think its important to think along these lines. If you research the disease and see some videos of patients, Im sure it will make matters more serious. Theres a reason why we dont challange experiencing the symptoms of patients suffering from Cancer and HIV so lets respect these patients too and do something more productive towards the cause. I believe there is monetary support that is being appreciated and accepted by those who are actually suffering. Will definitely do my bit.
