Dear TTP, So I saw you took responsibility of the horrendous barbarian acts taken place at Peshawar yesterday. Acts of such magnitude that gave teary eyes to the strongest of us and once again made us lose faith in humanity altogether but don’t you worry! You see tomorrow is a new day and we as a nation have so much of Hope in this country and our leaders and our sleeping conscience that we will recover from this, if not tomorrow, day after ..but we will recover , we always do. You see, We have so much of unfounded, baseless and deceptive hope when tragedies hit ..what to do. Don’t take me for a foe, I am friend in disguise, the entire nation is for that matter. My friend, while our prestigious governing politicians and their oppositions have found a new opportunity to play the never ending and never tiring blame game to shamelessly use this incident as a trump card to pull each other down on the political front, I can’t help but focus on the real culprit behind this. No dear friend, I am not pointing at you, I am pointing at myself and my nation. Each one of us individually and collectively is responsible and is the real terrorist here. You ? You are a mere reflection of our remarkable capacity of tolerance or must I mention, indifference. You see over the past few years these repeated attacks that took place, people who were taken hostages and casualties that have occurred over the passage of time has made us immune to such devastation and every time collateral damage and targeted victims are taken for their blood, we as a nation accepts it by ‘recovering’ from it. Don’t worry, we will yet again recover. So what if our mothers are weeping and will be weeping for the rest of their life’s, so what if my social media, talk shows condemning and a protest here and there may not bring back the lives of the hundreds of innocent children which were collateral damage in the process of you conveying your message to the government, so what if THIS is the ultimate magnitude of retaliation that I can possibly show. So what? Don’t worry dear friend you know that this retaliation, if I may call it that, is just a farce. I am on your side because you know that this social media retaliation and these talk shows, they won’t break you. They won’t change your plans to blast yet another school or mall or bus, or is it the cinema this time? Yeah what it may do is create a political turmoil… the nation blaming the government, the government engulfed in its own complexities over who gets the gold throne and the vicious cycle will go on and on and gradually the pressure will break and our sloppy leaders shall forget about it because WE will forget about it and the pressure to fix this will dilute and eventually fade ..like it always does. Dear TTP , you see I have got this, I have your back covered! Please go plan your next move, leave the immunity you enjoy in our country to our ignorance and convenient overlook over this tragedy along with many others which has hit us repeatedly in the past and gets us all emotional but soon will die out. I guarantee you that brother! One more potential result is that all those who have unfortunately survived this massacre will most probably be terror stricken enough not to go back to school in an already less educated province of my not so beloved country. There you go! Another tick to your goals. I assure you, we will continue to feed to your monstrous fear-craving appetite. You see dear friend, every time I do not raise my voice or show my retaliation towards your horrendous and gruesome acts, I implicitly strengthen and support you to take a step further in your demonic actions. Every time I ignore or accept these reoccurring blasts all over the country. I feed you.. I support you. over the passage of time I may have gradually become familiarized with the notion of ‘collateral damage’ and may have come to terms with it but what I could not see in fact was that in the process I have become IT. I have become the DAMAGE from the fight you self proclaimed and picked up on our nation. Please don’t be mistaken, I am not complaining. I cant, because I am so hopeful of the future of my daily dying youth! Dear friend your members may be vocal about their support to your ideology, in comparison to me and my nation but I feel they are less dangerous than us because you see we are the ones who really are the driving force behind you, the silent rather sleeping supporters of these activities by not acting , reacting and revolting . In essence, we are you and you are we. Don’t feel left out my friend, you are not a small tumor to our society but infact you are the entire nation. The only difference in actuality is that you carry on these horrible acts and vocally take responsibility for the same, we on the other hand give our silent immune support to anything and everything you do and hide our failure or lack of courage or merely lack of interest, to act under the garb of ‘hopefulness’ . Have you ever wondered, why is it that more than half of the nation, which frankly speaking do not even understand the complexities of the political turmoil the nation is going through, attends sit ins /dharnas and rallies in herds when called upon but may not be able to unite for a longer period of time, on its own, when calamity hits ? Hundreds have been sitting in at Islamabad for the past months because an ex-cricketer-philanthropist turn politician pumps them up to do so which is fine but don’t worry these hundreds of men and women will not… I will not come out on the roads and protest consecutively for months over your actions. You see, we are a blinded and a lost nation, we need SOMEONE to bring us out of our comfort zone, our abodes and wake us up to see and act against your horrible repeated acts. Now we all know that Mr. Khan under no circumstances will leave his beloved Container and Mr. Shareef won’t leave his seat. So it just so happens that there is nobody to awaken humanity in us, there is nobody to make us constantly protest for months against your actions until you are cleared from the face of this planet. So you my friend are in great luck! The leaders don’t care, never has never will, there is only so much the army can do and we ? We are herds of sheep. It’s your playground, play as you like. But yes, be assure that we will condemn you on social media, we will have walks and protest outside buildings because we will be genuinely pain stricken for a while but that will pass eventually rather quickly. You see our brains have become numb and our courage, our gut.. hollow. Without these two we don’t pose a threat to your future endeavors. So by all means, take our youth, take our children... Come and take all. Ironically, this silent support we graciously grant your way, is the least we can offer and it is the most that you need.
