Dear Team Urgent, Urgent was created for one reason - to spread the word about the travesties that occur every day at the NYC Animal Care & Control, and save as many pets as we can. Too few people know what is happening, hidden in plain sight. As you may know, summer is HIGH kill season at the shelter. Intake numbers sky rocket in July and August, and many highly adoptable pets needlessly die each day. The animals are counting on us now, more than ever. We need expand our reach and raise awareness.
