Dear Tim, I have always been a big fan of the products from Apple - TopicsExpress

Dear Tim, I have always been a big fan of the products from Apple innovations. I have deep admiration for the tremendous job that Apple Inc has done to make human life easier and convenient with its products. Thanks to the technical geniuses of Apple we have made a great leap forward in terms of technology. Recently I have noticed an astonishingly silly mistake and carelessness that Apple has made on the Iphone weather app. While I was typing the name of my country “Nepal” in the weather app finder, the Apple OS returned Nepal as a part of India which has left me bewildered. Nepal has always been a sovereign nation since its origin and has never been colonized or annexed by any other nation, even when the British occupied India. This has shocked and deeply hurt my sentiments as I have always been a proud citizen of Nepal with knowledge of its proud history. My ancestors have fought and died against foreign intruders for saving the sovereignty of this great nation and today apple has disrespected it by such an improvident behavior. Nepal proudly stands sandwiched between the biggest growing super economies named China and India. It boasts 8 of the tallest mountains in the world. Mount Everest and the famous Annapurna mountains are located in Nepal. Nepal is the birthplace of Buddha who was the founder of Buddhism. Nepal is a country with a proud history of over 3000 years. The famous Gorkhas who have fought in numerous battles in different parts of the world come from Nepal. It’s one of the youngest Republics in the world and we have our own government, Policies and people. The politics might be a little unstable as in all the countries in transition but that doesn’t stop any Nepalese from loving their beloved mother nation. A big and responsible company such as Apple has failed to recognize our sovereignty as nation and recognizes us as a part of India. This has deeply hurt the sentiments of Nepalese public and Diaspora. It’s an attack to our national pride and history. Apple Company has disrespected all of Nepal and Nepalese heritage by showing such irresponsible and incorrect data. On behalf of my proud nation Nepal and its people I would like to strongly ask Apple Inc to correct this error and publicly apologize to the Nepalese people. Hope you understand the seriousness of the situation and take appropriate action ASAP. I have attached the snapshots with this letter. Sincerely, Pujay Thapa
