Dear Trekkies Just watched Into the Darkness dubbed in Farsi. Yeah last night Channel One of the Iranian Television showed this movie the same way that they showed the first one few yrs. ago. Why Im writing this for you fellow trekkies is bcause I wanna tell you that dont believe everything you hear or see about us (Iranians). They say we are the enemies of the US but we are not. True that for the past 35 yrs. some of my countrymen have occupied the American embassy in Tehran and have burned the Red, White and Blue, but they have also bought many American products. Watched many American movies and television series. They love everything about America but they cant admit that what they did and still doing is wrong. If they really hated America they wouldnt start showing American movies two weeks before the Norooz (new year) vacations in Iran. Yeah they called the world film festivals and for one month all the 34 Iranian channels in Iran show 2 or 3 Iranian movies, 2 or 3 movies from Japan, China, Korea, Poland, French, Germany and around 200 to 300 movies from the good old USA. That’s why when my country men say Down with USA pls. dont believe them because some of them even have the green card and are even US citizens. If they really meant it they wouldnt show the latest films on our TV or we wouldnt be able to buy the DVDs for less than 2 dollars. As they say in the trek lands: Live Long and Prosper.
