Dear Tucson: I loved visiting you. I apologize for butchering - TopicsExpress

Dear Tucson: I loved visiting you. I apologize for butchering the spelling of your name because I had never been there before. I happen to have phonetic issues I guess --the C is silent, and you hear the S first. I am sorry. But there was no reason for a reader to send me the following hate mail: Please spell it correctly! If you arrived by plane did you land at TUCSON International?, If you drove did you follow the freeway signs to TUCSON? Do you not know where you are? Do you care or relate with the people where you are? Even your article spells it wrong several times. And we are not close to Phoenix.... In retrospect, I feel very sorry for the person who felt they had to address me this way for a simple mistake. If I were just speaking youd never know I was misspelling it in my mind. The upside? Ill never spell TUCSON wrong again (Even if the C is silent and the S sound comes first)
