Dear Vietnam Veterans, My name is Dr. Du Hua and I escaped the - TopicsExpress

Dear Vietnam Veterans, My name is Dr. Du Hua and I escaped the Communists of Vietnam. I found freedom in the United States of America in 1982. I started learning English and then finished my General Education and Development (GED) program and went on to obtain the Associate of Applied Science degree in Data Processing. I was so grateful for my new great country; thus, I joined the United States Navy in 1987. I had served my country on the United States Ship, America (CV-66) and had participated in the Persian Gulf War/Desert Storm Operation. Unfortunately, I got injured in the line of duty, and was honorably discharged. On April 30, 1993, I returned to college. I earned an Associate of Arts degree with High Honors in the Florida Community College of Jacksonville. I got accepted in the College of Pharmacy at Nova Southeastern University and I graduated as a Doctor of Pharmacy. I also got certified in Nuclear Pharmacy, at Purdue University. I am honored to serve my community, my people, once again… this time as a pharmacist. But I feel what I’ve been doing is not good enough. I keep thinking about our men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice, for our freedom. Growing up as a young boy near Da Nang, South Vietnam, I saw our American servicemen (and women), defending my village from the North Vietnamese invaders. Many Americans gave their lives, many American Prisoners of War (POWs) went through unspeakable brutality…and many are still missing! The price for the FREEDOM of South Vietnam was tremendous and beyond. The betrayed images to our HEROES are still vivid. The massive hurt and pain are endless. To honor our freedom fighters, I wrote the book: THE ESCAPES AND MY JOURNEY TO FREEDOM. This story is described with my own eyes as the killing, brutalizing, devastation and destruction were happening in my village, my country! This book even tells the other side of the War after, the Fall of Saigon. I had attempted to escape eleven times, before arriving to freedom! The tyranny from the communist regime is very clear to humanity. It is time for me to raise my voice; the voice that our brothers and sisters deserve to hear, the voice that will honor their service and sacrifice. It is time to heal the wounds that have been bleeding. It’s time to look at our Vietnam Veterans and say “THANK YOU”. For that reason, my voice was echoing at the Lauderdale Memorial Park in the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Memorial Day 2013, and at the Veterans Park in the city of Coral Springs, Florida of the Veterans Day of 2013. I also raised my voice to thank our veterans at the Nam Knights of America M/C Memorial Event in Orlando, Florida on March 8, 2014. I also give my best effort to make many speeches to many different veterans and POWs organizations, clubs, and churches. I’ve also made many speeches to our younger generations at middle schools, high schools, and colleges about our war heroes… our Vietnam veterans. If you could offer or give any opportunity for me speak and reach out to our Vietnam veterans and all veterans, to heal the deep wounds, please do not hesitate to contact me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please go to YouTube and type: Du Hua: You will see a series of videos of my speeches. Du Hua, Pharm.D, Navy Vet, DAV, Author. Theescapes81@gmail 954-790-7797
