Dear Vinanti - I am very grateful that I have was able to meet you at the Iftar dinner and I very much enjoyed our meeting. Thank you so much for your interest in HWPL- Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light. Mr. Manhee Lee is the founder and chair of HWPL and will be in New York from 8/31/14 to 9/3/14 to meet with people from the local government as well as leaders from the religious sector and peace-related NGOs of the UN. HWPL is a non-profit, non-governmental international peace organization registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Republic of South Korea where our headquarters are. HWPL is a peace organization that focuses on the cessation of war and sustainable world peace. Branch organizations include the International Womens Peace Group (IWPG) and the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG). HWPL consists of over 150,000 members worldwide. This organization has partnerships with heads of states and organizations of religious, peace, womens, and youth groups. In the past two years at the age of 84, Mr. Lee has traveled to over 60 countries on his 14 trips around the world. From public speeches to local and high-profile meetings Mr. Lee is effective in the work that he does. One of HWPLs most recent accomplishments was ending the forty-year religious conflict between the Muslim and Catholic populations on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. Our humanitarian efforts are in line with the United Nations goals of promoting peace. The members of HWPL use cultural diplomacy as a means to broaden minds and share joyful and positive experiences of common to all religious backgrounds, ethnicity, and nations. Therefore we work closely with the international Institute for Cultural Diplomacy. For preliminary events to HWPL and ICDs World Peace Summit from 9/17 to 9/19 in Seoul, South Korea, Mr. Lee will be in New York from 8/31/14 to 9/3/14. We sincerely request if you would gather your members in the form of a press conference or in-studio interview. The objective is to introduce the work of the organization and interview Mr. Lee, the war veteran who experienced firsthand the atrocities of war as a youth.
