Dear WFXG Fox 54 Viewer: As you may know by now, WFXG may not be available on Dish Network after August 1st. We know this is frustrating. We share your frustration. Let us briefly explain what happened, what is likely to happen next and what you can do to make sure you don’t miss a minute of your favorite local news and weather and great FOX programs. In order for stations like WFXG to serve you, we need agreements with the cable and satellite companies that bring our signal into your home. We have such agreements in place with all the TV providers serving Augusta-Aiken. Raycom Media the parent company of WFXG has been working to resolve this matter, but Dish Network has refused to come to terms. It’s frustrating because all the other TV providers in our area honor their deals with us and those deals are fundamentally similar to the one we are requesting with Dish Network. WFXG values your viewership and the long relationship we have enjoyed here in Augusta-Aiken. We’ve stood together during good times and bad, and we are your first alert for breaking news and severe weather – a responsibility and trust we don’t take lightly. We are going to keep working to resolve this matter with Dish Network. But you don’t have to wait. The good news is you can take action.
