Dear YDL Colleagues, Notice is hereby given of the next Annual General Meeting and 2014 Committee Election of the Young Diplomats in London, which will take place at 18:00 on Monday 9 December 2013. The AGM and Election will be followed by a drinks reception. In accordance to the Statute of Young Diplomats in London, membership is automatic for any person that works within a Diplomatic Mission or an International Organisation accredited to the United Kingdom. The committee is made up of: Eleven (11) officers who shall be elected by the membership as stipulated herein and shall hold office for one year. At least eight (8) of the eleven (11) Officers shall work within a Diplomatic Mission or an International Organisation accredited to the United Kingdom and the other three (3) Officers may be either persons who work within a Diplomatic Mission or an International Organisation accredited to the United Kingdom or be Members admitted by special invitation. A Member by special invitation is a person proposed by a Member of the Committee who does not work in a Diplomatic Mission or an International Organisation accredited to the United Kingdom but whom the Committee deem beneficial to the Association. A Member by special invitation will be able to stand for the Committee election and have voting rights. If you are interested in being considered as a Member by special invitation kindly email the Committee no later than 17:00 on Friday 6 December 2013 following the nomination procedure below. Should you wish to stand for election to the 2014 YDL Committee the nomination period will be open from 2 to 6 December 2013. In order to stand for a Committee position, interested persons are kindly asked to advise of their interest in seeking election and if they are contesting the position of President / Vice-President / Treasurer / Secretary or seeking election as a General Committee Member. They are further kindly asked to include the name and contact details of the Mission/Organization that they are accredited to. All interested persons can forward the above details by e-mail to [email protected] After the nomination period has closed a full list of candidates will be circulated to the Membership in advance of the vote on Monday 9 December 2013. If YDL Members wish to attend the AGM, you are kindly asked to register your interest via email no later than Monday 9 December 2013 at: [email protected] Please note that voting at any YDL Meeting shall be by a show of hands on all matters.
