Dear anonymous web service developer: I have a couple of constructive ideas that may help you (and more importantly, those who consume your web services). First, if your service requires a month value to be the first 3 alpha characters in the month name, please either be specific about case sensitivity, or better yet, convert everything to upper when parsing the input values. Dont make me figure out by trial and error that you expect OCT for October, not oct or Oct. Again, better still, convert it during the input so I dont have to freaking deal with it. Second, if you require OCT for your input value, why do you pass me back the number 10 when I retrieve the record? Seriously, you need to be physically assaulted for this. If I give you OCT, how about just give me OCT back? That way I dont have to convert your stupid 10 back to OCT. You know, for that matter, I could have just passed you a 10 to begin with... I offer you this feedback with great love in me heart.
