Dear brothers and sisters, as I have been a Muslim now for 20 - TopicsExpress

Dear brothers and sisters, as I have been a Muslim now for 20 years I have seen a lot of changes taking place amongst the ummah; especially since the onset of the Internet. Some of you may be very new and unaware of some of the dangers on line in regards to our deen. I thought I would just make mention of this in case you arent aware of it. The enemies of Allah and Islam have been trying for years to water our religion down. So much so that it is starting to merge with secular society. This was mentioned to us by the Prophet, peace be upon him, so we know that it is going to happen. The prophet (S.A.W.) said, You will surely follow the ways, steps, or traditions of those who came before you, span by span and yard by yard (very closely) even if they entered into a lizards hole you will enter it. The companions asked, O prophet, you mean the Jews and Christians? He replied, Who else!? [Reported by Imaam Bukhaari] In another hadeeth, he clearly prohibited imitation stating, If one imitates another nation or people, he will be from them. [Reported by Imaam Abu-Daawud] Just because someone has a Muslim name, a Muslim looking profile, does not mean they are Muslim. There are many masquerading as Muslims with the objective of misleading us and watering down our deen. There are also scholars that are doing the same. Just because some so called scholar says such and such, dont just blindly follow it. Check it out. What did the Prophet, peace be upon him, do. What about the companions? We have to hold on to our deen and it is going to get harder and harder and only those with the strongest iman and love for Allah and His deen will succees. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:There will come a time when holding on to your Iman (belief) will be like holding on to hot coals {Tirmidhi} We left our old lifestyles, we saw something different in Islam, lets work towards strengthening that rather than trying to merge it. Of course, some aspects of Islam can be merged with our old life, but we need to be careful what aspects we merge with it. Islam is not meant to be so merged that it is indistinguishable from everything else. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Islam began as something strange and will revert to being strange as it began, so give glad tidings to the strangers.” Muslim May Allah continue to guide us and give us the ability to see when our desires are leading us astray ameen.
