Dear church, Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in - TopicsExpress

Dear church, Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. (Exodus 3:1 KJV) Wait a second... Moses tended to someone elses flock?? Moses is running around in the desert shoveling sheep dung… I thought he was supposed to have a real destiny in God... Cant you hear the devil, saying where is your God now Moses...you were named Moses because it means drawn out but it looks like now the only drawn out youre going to be a part of is leaving your palace life to be drawn out in the dry, barren desert to die in the wilderness. Moses was educated, he grew up in the palace, he grew up with everybody telling him he was going to be somebody and yet he is running around with his father-in-laws sheep in the wilderness, a place in which he had not developed any skill set for. Now, hes having to learn a new arena of life. And its in the next few verses where we see that while Moses is running from his history (Ex. 2:11-15), he runs into his destiny. And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. (Exodus 3:2-6 KJV) Ever so often you go through a period in your life that seems like all your real skills are being wasted. It will feel like youre not being used to your highest potential; it will feel like youre living beneath your privilege and if youre not careful you will secretly see yourself as a failure because you dont see yourself operating in the way that you dreamt that you would. Quit feeling sorry for yourself because you dont know Gods purpose for your life; do you not understand that Moses did not get his epiphany until he was 80 years old. He has had an identity crisis for 80 years until he found a straight path. You will never be too old to be used as a deliverer of Gods people, the devil is a liar! If weve got 80 year old men still walking the halls of congress in Washington D.C. everyday of their lives trying to pass more stimulus packages and spending bills and finding ways to increase the size of government, than why cant you, as a holy child of God reject the idea that you are too old to be of any more use to the Kingdom. If you feel like youre currently on the backside of the wilderness chasing a bunch of dumb, smelly sheep, realize that nothing you go through is wasted. Selah! Jerod
