Dear family and friends: once again, I am standing in the need of prayer! My wife, Kyoko-san, who recently underwent surgery for breast cancer, is preparing to undergo surgery again! It seems the cancer metastasized and travelled to her brain, so she is going to have brain surgery tomorrow morning starting about 0800! Now, heres the good news: The tumor is growing in a place that is relatively easy to reach; although no brain surgery is ever easy. The neurosurgeon stated that the tumor is at the base of her skull, and is on top of the brain instead of deep inside her brain. The docs said this is a common place for cancer to go because there is not so much blood there which means fewer white blood cells, but is also the EASIEST place for surgery with the least amount of shock to the brain. Kyoko-san is in high spirits. She knows she is undergoing surgery again only 8 weeks after her breast surgery and is prepared both mentally and physically. The choice to refuse surgery would result in paralysis and eventually death. Tripler Hospital has taken very good care of my darling wife, and I know she is in good (Gods) hands, so I ask my prayer warriors to lift her and me up as we move into these uncharted waters.
