Dear family and friends, thank you so much for the birthday wishes. I have been truly blessed this summer. I have had the most amazing trips. I have been to London, Paris, Barcelona and Rome with a fantastic group of teachers and students. They were the best and the sights were more than I can describe. Then after a short break at home I was off to Denver for the NEA RA and learned so much. I even had to opportunity to see a few sights in the area. And today was another wonderful experience. As most of you can tell I traveled to Ellenwood, KS. I proudly wore my red shirt to remind everyone that I believe in public education. I stood with a small group of teachers to remind our governor of that very issue. He saw our small group and left. ??? That is our governor?? Then with Lori Greenfield and her son Collin, we toured the tunnels that were built under the city of Ellenwood. It was very interesting as the town was settled by German settlers. I have a German heritage as well. The tours (2) were both a tribute to the lives of the early settlers. On one tour, the goal was to update and bring back to life the buildings/shops that were part of the underground town. A lot of work, but so neat and I cant wait to go back. On the second tour, it was stepping back into time. The original furniture, stories came to life as the doors were reopened to see what life was like. I had a great day!!! Then to come home and see all the wonderful wishes from everyone. I feel loved and blessed. I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. Life is good!!
