Dear fb friends- please consider sending the following message to our school board members. It can be copied and emailed to each of them. Dear Windham School Board, I am writing to you requesting that you vote NO on the proposed Charter School. This Charter School does not accomplish the basic tenet of charter schools – which is to solve a problem. This proposal will not solve our most critical issue – overcrowding. As your constituent, I am asking you to uphold the goals and objectives of the school board – to consider the needs of ALL the students, and to execute the running of the school district in the most fiscally responsible manner. Adding significant costs to the school operating budget for an expensive, risky, unproven experiment that would affect a very small pool of students can be only viewed as irresponsible. If you believe in transparency, being fiscally responsible to all your constituents, and if you take the commitment to all our students seriously, then your decision must be NO – this proposal is not appropriate for our school district.
