Dear fellow TTs, Hack Library School submitted a conversation - TopicsExpress

Dear fellow TTs, Hack Library School submitted a conversation starter for ALA Annual 2014 and would really appreciate your support and vote! We have had successful conversation starters at the past two annual conferences and hope to continue the tradition. Hack Library Advocacy The Hack Library School Blog is for, by, and about library school students. Our guiding philosophy is based on the principle of crowd-sourcing information. We seek to create a collaborative environment where other library school students can come together and share information with one another to enrich their education. As the next generation, we are responsible for the future of librarianship and it is time we start advocating for our profession. This conversation starter will bring students together with library professionals to exchange ideas about the things that really matter: How to... 1) Establish what skills and services are important in this age 2) Determine how we can make the most of library school and the varying nature of LIS programs 3) Market our skills and services to future employers, library patrons and the general public Hack Library School will also encourage interaction via social media (@HackLibSchool on Twitter and HackLibrarySchool on Facebook) for those interested in submitting questions beforehand or following the HLS Conversation Starter virtually. Sincerely, Courtney Baron Managing Editor Hack Library School
