Dear fellow classmates. As i set here typing my heart is broken for this family. I cant imagine what it would be like to lose a child . For those of you who arent aware. This is the child of our classmate and moreover a friend Shanowa (Thornton) Kuykendall. A flower arrangement from the class of 1999 has been taken care of. And if u would like to donate money, the family has asked that donations may be made to the Cure for Childhood Cancer in memory of Braxton. In closing i ask that if u believe in prayer i know this family use some. Thanks and may God richly bless u all. With Deepest Sympathy, Jeff Potts Braxton Fannin Kuykendall (January 13, 2004 - October 4, 2014) Braxton Fannin Kuykendall age 10 of Upper Plott Town Rd. Young Harris went to be with Jesus on Saturday October 4, 2014 fro the Union General Hospital following a battle with cancer. Braxton was born on January 13, 2004 in Union County, the son of Daniel Kuykendall and Shanowa Thornton Kuykendall. Braxton was a very special young man who loved hunting, fishing and logging. Even through his battle with cancer he always stayed very uplifted and had a smile for everyone. Braxton was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. Surviving Braxton are his loving parents, Danny and Shanowa Kuykendall of Young Harris, two brothers, Ethan Kuykendall and Jacob Kuykendall both of Young Harris, grandparents, Allen and Viola Kuykendall of Young Harris, Don and Mary Thornton of Morganton, great grandfather, J.B. Thornton of Blairsville, several aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of his church family, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Stacy Dyer and Rev. Jeff Deaver officiating. Special music will be presented by Lindsey Gaylord. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Ben Koknoko, Greg Blocker, Rodney Ash, Craig Young, Oscar Thomas and Brian Mashburn. Interment will follow in the Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers if you wish, donations may be made to the Cure for Childhood Cancer in memory of Braxton. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-9 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements. You may sign the family guest book and send condolences on line at mountainviewfuneralhome.
