Dear fellow students, As part of the University’s commitment to recruit and support students from diverse background I am undertaking a PhD in this area. The research aims to understand the challenges students facing in terms of their experience, progression & achievement, aspires to improve the future students’ life on campus. I would like to invite students from backgrounds under-represented in higher education to take part in a focus group as part of my research – such as students of low socio-economic status, black & minority ethnic and mature backgrounds. I am particularly interested in speaking to current students who took part in widening participation programmes, such as Aimhigher, Summer Schools or similar activities as participants, i.e. before you became a student at the University. The focus group should take about an hour.
