Dear friend, You all must have seen the condition of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. lacs of people have been victims of this " Himalyan Tsunami" . They are living in very tough situation. Drinking water is not available to them, people are hungry for last four days, eating tree leafs. NO medicine, no house and no clothes are available to them . Road has been completely damaged. Now they have nothing to survive and are completely dependent on outside helps. . The resources providing by the govt is not sufficient as the loss is much higher than relief. This is high time when every one ( every Indian) has to come forward and will have to contribute so that our own brothers, sisters and mothers who have been victims can get little bit reliefs. It is a request to all Kartavya Volunteers, please come forward. You all are living in different location. You can help in following ways 1) You can collect following material from your community, town or village and can drop it at Goonj dropping center. ( goonj.org) Tarpaulins, mosquito nets, Dry ration ( primarily-rice, pulses, biscuits ) blankets and woolens, cooking utensils, buckets, torch and batteries, umbrellas, basic medicines, water purifier tablets, crutches, candles,lanterns, feeding bottles, rope. Also- Old flex banners, mats, sponsorship for sanitary pads & Sujnis. 2) If you are working then you can donate or can motivate and collect the fund from your friends and seniors. This money you can transfer directly to Goonj account (or prime minister relief fund) or can send cheque or drafts (Details are available in Goonj website,). You will get Income tax exemption under 80G. 3) If in your city, ISM Alumni chapter is active then please convey this appeal to your Alumni chapter and try to collect maximum help. This is a time when every Kartavya member will has to fulfill their responsibility. Please come forward and do what you can do.
