Dear friends: Alchemy was amazing and I promise to update you soon. I need to decomp and rest first. I also need to draw your attention to something much more pressing:: Pete Kassig, Indiana native, North Central grad, and long time friend of my brother (and also my family) could be the next beheading victim of ISIS. He started a humanitarian group called SERA (Special Emergency Response and Aid) that takes medical relief, food, and supplies to Turkey and Lebanon for Syrian refugees. Although not a doctor or nurse, he oversaw the care of many people and made it his life purpose to help those who were victims of the civil war. (He was first an Army Ranger, then chose to be a humanitarian worker instead. He was interviewed in TIME and quoted as saying I can choose to be another gun on the ground or I could to choose to help those people whos suffering I have helped create.) Last October, while making a supply drop, his car was randomly stopped at the Turkish border, and he was kidnapped as part of the ISIS agenda. This past Friday, the video that contained the footage of Alan Hennings beheading also contained a direct threat on Peters life.(Obama, you have started your aerial bombardment of Shams (Syria), which keeps on striking our people.So it is only right that we continue to strike the neck of your people) His parents have issued a statement asking ISIS to release him, and asking the American government to do everything in their power to push for his release. Join me in praying/meditating for him and his family. Also sign the petition to our government for his release. And take to heart this lesson: what is happening overseas and with our military DOES affect us. Many times we see the images and sympathize from afar.
