Dear friends I would like to share the importance of CULTURE mag, Anthony Wynne-Hoelscher and Susa Wynne-Hoelscher, Jenny Burns and Hayley Miller and the team to my career. My very first presentation of any significance was at Hair Expo, a seminar supported by WElla, though with the 100% support of Anthony and Susa. I was 21. For the next 6 years Anthony and Susa supported, guided, encouraged, occasionally pulling me into line when my ego got to big, but always I believe, for the improvement of the industry. Just so we are clear on this, GENERATION NEXT SHOW, at Expo, as we know it today, started in 1996 when Anthony and Susa had the courage to work with a then 25 year old Emiliano, and 50-50, (although I now see Anthony and Susa did most of the work) produce a show which I had done 2 years earlier called Hair for Oncology, raising much needed funds for Cancer at Westmead Childrens Hospital. In which a similar format to the Alternative Hair Show in London and together in 2 years we raised close to $60,000 for Oncology research. We had teams from all around Australia and Japan with the biggest names in Hairdressing at the time. Always supportive of every endeavour I had ever put to them, at the drop of a hat would always offer advise, I probably never took it, ego wouldnt allow, yet always supportive of each of us trying to pave our way in the industry. Then came CULTURE MAG, ground breaking, original and pushing the envelope. It was and is revered amongst ALL hairdressers, here and around the world and seeing what Jenny and Hayley have done with the magazine over the years is truly inspiring. As a creative I can sincerely say one of my BIGGEST goals in my career was to be valued enough by culture Magazine to make it to lunch with Jenny. No bullshit, no lies it was one of the most exciting moments in my life sitting down and having lunch with CULTURE and Jenny. In my eyes I honestly felt a true sense of achievement. I think I have read every single Lunch interview since the very first. I have wonderful relationships with all the press, all the media here in Australia and respect all of you equally, Cameron Pine, Linda Woodhead, David Mannah and my new friends at SO, though I have to say WHOLEHEARTEDLY that::: I Emiliano Vitale and my company é SALON owe MUCH of our current success and MOST of our early success to the VISION, the COURAGE, the DETERMINATION and LOVE that Anthony, Susa, Jenny, Hayley and the whole team have shown me, my team and our incredible Industry. I love you guys like family and I thank you from the FULLNESS of my heart for everything you have, are and will continue to do for the industry I love so very much. GOD BLESS you all and thinking and praying for you. Love you xxx
