Dear friends, Once again the Tavira open air Film Shows 2013 turned out to be greatly successful in terms of public attendance. A total of 2.397 spectators (not counting with the multiple free-pass owners) attended the 22 films of the programme, enthusiastic with its quality and with the ambiance we created in the beautiful Cloisters of the Carmo Convent. When counting with the 2 regular screenings we organized in the same location (NIGHT TRAIN TO LISBON e SEARCHING FOR SUGAR MAN), a total of 2.653 spectators assisted to the 24 screenings... Our visitors awarded the prize "THE PUBLIC’S CHOICE" to the following films: 13th European Film Show: Best Short Film: MAYBE (TALVEZ) by Pedro Resende, Portugal/E.U.A. 2012 Best Feature Film: INTOUCHABLES (AMIGOS IMPROVÁVEIS) by Olivier Nakache & Eric Toledano, France 2011 8th Non-European Film Show: Best Short Film: TAMA TU by Taika Waititi, New Zealand 2005 Best Feature Film: MARLEY de Kevin Macdonald, E.U.A./UK 2012 Once more we would like to thank the Tavira Council, the Regional Direction of the Ministry of Culture and Inatel for supporting these events; special thanks go to the group of private sponsors, to the press and to our ever more faithful public.
