Dear friends, as I sit here this evening unwinding after another - TopicsExpress

Dear friends, as I sit here this evening unwinding after another day at the hospital my mind is going a hundred different ways. I think why did this happen and what am I to learn from it? Well I know one thing we as a family need to learn is Patience!!! Even though Byron is coming along so well, everyone says baby steps. Every day there is a little improvement but only slight improvements. All vitals are great, but he is so weak that every move is an effort. The most important thing for him now is physical therapy. It is slow and painful. He does still have a feeding tube down his nose into his small intestine and they are working with him to get him to swallow and eat a small little bit of pudding. That is when he will start to really improve, when he can eat and drink. He is so weak from so much trauma and being in bed for so long it is really hard. We are with him everyday and we want him to just get up and lets go home to his cozy leather chair. The Dr hinted today that he will be in hospital for maybe a month or more. A lot of that will be rehabilitation too. It will be up to him and how hard he works. So as I think about what lies ahead, I know Heavenly Father wants to teach our family the virtue of patience. So i WILL be patient, because I am so very grateful to have had him survive this horrific accident. His Dr is so wonderful and came into Byrons room and chatted with us for quite awhile and reassured us again that he is making great progress and for us to be patient. Theres that word again!!! I know we will one day be able to bring him back home and until then I will be PATIENT and rely on the Drs, nurses, and Heavenly Father to help us through these next weeks and months. James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the PATIENCE of Job, and have seen the end of The Lord; that The Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. Love, Lana
