Dear friends, my makeup use is sparse at best and if you want to see me barefaced take a stroll through most of my albums. Ive never tried to go through life presenting myself from only my most flattering angles and most of my photos reflect that. And while I appreciate the serious nature of cancer I cant help but feel like this look at me at my un-primped worst cancer support is still somewhat of an insult and not that uplifting to those actually suffering. My hair still has its (limited) volume, my cheeks are still full, and my skin still glowing with health. And though I know its not what those of you supporting are trying to do, I personally will not mock a woman who is in essence losing the very nature of her femininity while struggling to survive, by flaunting my good health and good fortune. But I do pray that the medical world will continue making headway in treatment and try to see their patients as people in need and not just a multimillion dollar industry.
