Dear friends one and all, and friends of friends, this also applies to you, What the Heffing Haich are you doing there, anyone with a state pension needs to be out of ‘rip off UK’!!!! Okay, I can bang on about the paradise island we winter in, but there are others worthy of research. Examples of living on Margarita Island now. Housing: Far better standard than UK. A fabulous 3/5 bedroom house with 4/6 bathrooms, pool etc. less than one third the cost of a basic three bed, one bath estate house in UK Private security, pool service gardening etc. £12 per month Electricity: Almost free, we have ducted air conditioning up and down and all imaginable electrical appliances. Bill: around £15 per month. Food: amazing quality and taste of all foodstuffs with a supermarket bill around one tenth of the cheapest UK supermarkets. People: lovely, friendly and helpful. Water charges: around £5.00 per month. Community charge: approx. £10.00 per year Cars, more expensive than UK, around twice the price, Ouch. Petrol: now almost free, a full tank generally costing around ten pence, yes, not per litre, but the full tank. One year basic car insurance: around £8.00. yes, eight, not eight hundred. All basic gin, whisky, rum etc. around 15 pence per bottle. Yes, pence, not pounds. Sun, 12 hours per day and 365 days per year: Gratis. Sea and ocean: warm and wonderful all year around. Some may not want to leave the “kids” but the “kids” would love you to piss off here so that they could come and stay with you. Our savings here far outweigh our travel costs, and we are warm, happy and feeling younger than we would feel in Europe. Think about it, that silly little island will strip you bare and spit you out. You deserve more, research it carefully and I expect to see a few more neighbours next year. Love from us to you
