Dear group, Some members have asked us Admins what will happen - TopicsExpress

Dear group, Some members have asked us Admins what will happen to the group after we win the Referendum on Thursday. The quick answer is that we dont really know ... and in any case, its not not going to be a decision taken solely by the team, nor, heaven forbid, just one of us. This is, and also has been, YOUR group after all, and we wouldnt do anything without consulting you. Let me however make a few personal suggestions. Some of you will want to continue with promoting ideas for the building of the new Scottish nation that will be born from 19th September. This place will be available to you to discuss these ideas with your newly-liberated fellow citizens of a free Scotland. If you wish us to remain as your Admins during this period, Im sure many of us would be happy to stay and contribute appropriately - as, I hope, we have all done so up until now (and will maintain the standards we set for ourselves and the group, right up to the closing of the ballot boxes on 18 September.) My second suggestion, which is NOT exclusive of the first, is perhaps, more personal, and, is NOT to be seen as sidetracking any group member from the important work s/he will perform in nation building the new Scotland. What I propose is that those with sufficient energy, will, expertise, creative inclination and general goodwill, do turn their talents, skills, knowledge accumulated during this campaign for Scottish independence towards achieving the same liberty and freedom that my home nation - Cymru/Wales - seeks. We have a bank here of over 28.5 THOUSAND people who are committed in their own way to the independence of Scotland. We have all learned new skills, new ways of accessing and using information; we have commissioned and responded to petitions; we have railed against mainstream media; we have fought against bias, prejudice, and state hubris; we have created fun images, stories, songs; we have supported those politicians who have been consistently on our side and mocked, lampooned, satirised and refuted the arguments of those against us; we have researched for things beneficial to our cause and unearthed materials damaging to our opponents; we have networked through social media with our fellow citizens and we have shown how people power can destroy myths and falsehoods and bring about change for good in our communities and for the good of our nation. All this, and much, much more. Consider then how this army of socially alert, media savvy, computer literate people can be channelled to mobilise to another victory - and aid its cousins in other places; particularly, in my case - my motherland. I urge those in Scotland therefore to join with us, work with us and help inspire another victory of the people against Westminster and its elite. The cracks there are already showing. The earthquake of a YES in Scotland is imminent. Let that be the catalyst that stirs the red dragon to finally also cast away the shackles that has kept it down for so long. In unity, on behalf of the people of Cymru/Wales to our cousins in the ancient but soon to be new (and renewed) nation of Alba/Scotland, my sincerest best wishes and thanks for enabling me to continue to serve you to the best of my ability. Diolch yn fawr/Thank you very much. - Welsh Admin (and also on behalf of the Admin Team of Vote YES)
