Dear me Jamie ... just think of all those idiot bureaucrats who would be joining the dole queues if we got rid of all those daft regulations and busybody organizations that make life so difficult for all of us. Heaven forbid, we should do such a dreadful thing! Just think ... we could go back to reclaiming our property rights. We could cut taxes by about half, get rid of the impediments to growth and development and let the land owners care for the land as they always have. Most of the damage done to the environment in NZ was done by the army of Farm Advisors who meddled in the farming industry back in the 60s and 70s and after that, bureaucrats in general started multiplying like rabbits and Government spending began its upward trajectory. All of which has created a lethargic and timid economy, stultified by interfering Government busybodies. Just loved your Hot Seat interview Jamie. I do believe Rachel Smalley actually had a couple of light bulb moments, but I think Audrey and Fran have psychosclerosis. And the other dude looked as if he just didnt get it.
